BARUCH ROFEH HOLIIM

YEHUDA BEN BRACHA, (24-6-03) the American grandfather who came for his grandson's wedding. He was injured in a shooting attack on June 20 th in which his son was murdered. Yesterday he came out of ICU, but he has two bullets near his heart and will have to stay in Israel for, at least, another six weeks.

LEAH SARA BAT CHANA, (24-6-03) his wife, was in serious condition, but was moved out of ICU today and is sharing a room with her husband. They were on their way to a special SHEVA BRACHOT Shabbat when the attack happened.

SHIRA BAT GALIT, the three year old who was injured June 17 th in a shooting attack on her way home from a BAR MITZVAH celebration. Her seven year old sister was murdered in the attack and her grandfather and brother lightly injured.

On March 13 there was a shooting on a car and two members of a Beersheva family were seriously wounded, the father DAVID CHAI and his married son MENACHEM are both in Rehab at Tel Hashomer and both are paralyzed from the chest down. I do not have mothers' names. Though their condition is stable they certainly still need prayers. (Does anyone have a contact at Tel Hashomer who could find out their mothers' names and give me updates?)

*SIMCHA SOFIE BAT MONIQUA ESTHER, (22-7-03) the driver of the car that was shot on Friday, June 13 th, and a mother of a large family in Nerya. I received this message: She has wonderful spirit even though it's very difficult for her to breathe.

*HILLA BAT ROCHEL, (22-7-03) a young teacher from Neve Tzuf and a mother of three young children, who was also shot on June 13 th, is in Rehabilitation. She is home, walking about, and doing some things with help from neighbours and friends, especially with her children. At present, she cannot use her left hand/arm, and the prognosis is that this will persist for (at least) many months. She has made and is making tremendous progress, considering her original condition after the attack, but she still needs our prayers for a full recovery.

*CHAVA AVITAL BAT ZIVA, (22-7-03) a Michela (college) student who was critically injured in the Jerusalem bus bombing on June 11 th. Please note the corrected middle name. I received a message that she is at home, still recovering and still in need of our prayers. She has a long road ahead of her.

*RIVKA RENA NISTARA ESTER BAT NAHORA MA'ALYA FAIGA GITTEL, (22-7-03) the 16 year old who was in the June 11th bus bombing. I received this message: She is already a counselor in a girls' summer camp in the Golan. She left Tzfat the day after her Seudat Hoda'ah. She would appreciate continued prayers for her
ears to heal -- punctured eardrums.

SHMUEL BEN ROBERTA SARA, (24-7-03) the doctor who was injured in the Afula bombing about a month ago. He lost one eye and there is hope of saving the other eye. However, he needs our prayers.

YITZHAK TZVI BEN MIRIAM AIDA (24-6-03), 37 year old father of four who sustained major spinal cord injuries in the May 18th bus attack. I received the following message: The mother's name is Miriam Aida. Progress is slow, but there is some slight improvement, he was moving his legs a little. He was transferred last week to a rehab hospital in Tel Aviv. She appreciates my putting him on the list and thanks you all.

HADAR BAT SARA, (1-7-03) the security guard from Afula, who was seriously injured in the May 19 th bombing. The following was taken from Arutz 7 today, July 1st:

Hadar Gitlin, 20, told Galei Tzahal Radio this morning that she is working hard in rehabilitation and looks forward to life outside of the hospital one day in the future. Hadar is in rehabilitation and is beginning to walk once again using a walker. When Hadar was 13, her older sister was seriously wounded in the Beit Lid Junction bomb attack. Now, she visits Hadar as she fights to regain her life.

MORIAH SARA BAT LEAH LIAT, (1-7-03) the six year old girl who was shot in the head in an ambush in which her father was murdered, on May 5th , 03 is still on medicine via an IV. She has a long recovery ahead of her.

TAMIR BEN TZIPPORAH, (1-7-03) the father of two, who was shot in the jaw in the May 5th ambush, is continuing to improve. He goes for treatments several times a week and has a big operation still ahead of him. He continues to improve slowly.

LEONID LAZAR BEN ROCHEL, (20-5-03) the guard at Atarot who was injured 23-2-03. His name has been changed to CHAIM LAZER BEN ROCHEL and he has miraculously regained consciousness, against all the doctors' expectations. My source wrote that his family is convinced that it is in the merit of our prayers and since he still has a long way to go, we need to keep praying.

DVIR NISSAN BEN ESTER (17-6-03), the eight year old boy who was shot in an ambush on January 29th , is home now, but not back at school. He has a long road ahead of him. I received a message from Dvir's uncle that because the boy is no longer in danger we should take him off the list since, to our sorrow, there are so many who need our prayers. His family will continue to pray for him to improve, walk normally, and return to school and normal life.

ORIT BAT MERI (10-6-03), from Beit Chaggai, was shot in the hand while driving with her small children fall '02. Her therapy is not working well and they are talking about a hand operation or her learning to live with being able to use just one hand. By the way, she is the aunt of DVIR BEN CHANA DVORA. The suation stays status quo.

Rotem Ben Yona (27-5-03), a soldier who was shot on April 4th 2002 in Shechem. One of the bullets hit a major artery in the neck & caused loss of oxygen to the brain causing severe brain damage. My source met Rotem and said he looks good but can NOT speak & right hand is still paralyzed. There is still no change.

Here are two names from the Nov. 15th Hevron Massacre:

*MOSHE (PASCAL) BEN ROCHEL, (22-7-03) from Kiryat Arba security team. I received the following message: is thank G-d better, he succeeded in walking - with crutches - a full kilometer; but he is still on abdominal tubes and travels weekly to rehab in an ambulance; he still has a long way to go. The situation stays status quo.

*BARUCH BEN VARDA (22-7-03) a border policeman from Kiryat Arba, who lost a leg in the attack. He has his prosthesis, but he was also wounded in the head at the time and there are neurological problems now from scar tissue in the brain, fainting spells and such. The situation stays status quo.

ASAEL BEN ROCHEL (10-6-03), the little boy from Itamar who lost his mother, three siblings, and his leg when an Arab terrorist attacked his home in Itamar on May 21st , 02. He still does not have his prosthesis. He does go to school, in a wheelchair. He still has a lot of healing to do.

DOV BEN MALKA (20-5-03), from Ateret, who was injured in the Sept. 25th , '02 shooting near his home. He is still at home, doing therapy with special equipment. The situation stays status quo.

CHAIM ELITZUR BEN ESTHER SHAINDEL (1-7-03), father of six, who was injured in terrorist shooting attack near Peduel on July 25 when the ROSH HAYESHIVA was murdered. I received this message from his aunt: Good News! Elitzur has just this week begun an intensive program of physiotherapy in Hadassa Har Hatzofim to strengthen his leg . Bezrat Hashem ,we pray for progress and less suffering. Thanks

SHLOMO BEN SYLVIE, (10-6-03) a soldier injured in an attack near Rammalah. I received the following message: My son visited Shlomi several weeks ago and he was finally at home in Kiryat Ata recuperating. However, I spoke with his mother before Shavuot and he has been through an operation less than two weeks ago. He was asleep when I called (late afternoon in Israel) because of the pain and medications. Unfortunately, the surgeons needed to place additional metal supports in his leg. Given the recent report I think it is important that we continue to pray for Shlomo ben Sylvie.

From the bombing massacre at Hebrew University Cafe on 31/7/02:

*MAYA BAT DRORA, (22-5-03) a master's student in Geography. I received the following message: Regarding the operation on her blind eye which has no muscles, which must work so that she can at least use her eyelids, they have been in touch with a number of specialists for this delicate area, both here and abroad. Some doctors have said she would need more than one operation. She is a single young lady and this operation is not for cosmetic purposes.

*EDNA BAT YOCHEVED, (22-7-03) was attacked with acid by an Arab woman in her store on Pesach '01. I received the following message: She is not doing at all well psychologically. She just sits all day at home and has lost all her will to do anything. She was supposed to come here to me for a visit, but doesn't leave the house. She's seeing a psychog/iatrist and is on some medication, but it's not producing anything positive. I've pleaded with her to stop watching the news -- it would be terribly depressing for anyone NOT in her vulnerable situation. On her physical side, she's to submit photographs to her U.S.A. surgeon in another month. She has operations ahead of her over there, but no dates arranged yet.

Victims from the June 19th '02 French Hill Attack:

*AHARON BEN SIMCHA, (22-7-03) a soldier who tried to stop the suicide bomber. I received this message: Due for an operation on his blind eye -- (cosmetic -- to make it look somewhat better). He is completely deaf in one ear, with a drop in hearing in his "good" ear and some sort of hearing aid is in the offing. Vis a vis his emotional state, as would be expected, 13 months after the massacre, he has his "down" days.

*SHAUL DOV BEN NURIT (22-7-03) 18, had a SUEDAH HODAYA when we were away. His mother says they are still praying for his eye to totally heal and the good eye to stay good.

*AHARON BEN RACHEL (22-7-03) a border policeman, and real hero, from Gilo is married with 3 kids. He saw the suicide bomber, tried to stop him and was badly injured. I received the following message: - After trying everything (the iron paraphanalia on his legs ror so long, then plaster casts -- for months on end, most sadly, nothing has succeeded and Aharon's right leg has to be amputated. His wife is now in her seventh month of pregnancy (number 4) and has to be on watch from now to the end.

DVIR BEN CHANA DVORA (10-6-03), who was seriously injured on June 11 th '02 when someone stepped on a land mine, is walking with a limp and crutches now. He and his family are waiting for the doctors' answers about surgery on the pelvic region.

I was asked to return his two classmates who were injured with him to the list. Even though they are both home, they are in outpatient rehab and have a long road ahead of them:

EVYATAR BEN DVORA, (6-5-03) from Kochav HaShachar is back at school most of the time and continuing outpatient therapy. There has been much improvement, but he still needs prayers.

ELYASHIV ELIYAHU BEN HADASSAH, (6-5-03) from Jerusalem, is back at YESHIVA high school, but continues with rehab. As with Evyatar there has been much improvement but he still needs prayers.

From the March 7 th ' 02 Atzmona Massacre:

AVIAD BEN VIKTORYA (6-5-03) is home, paralyzed from the waist down. He has finished his rehab and therapy. All that remains to help him is prayers.

RON SIMCHA BEN BATYA (6-5-03) who lost a foot, is now is now in the army working in Intelligence.

AMICHAI BEN CHANA CHAYA (17-6-03), policeman who was injured in the Feb. 25 th '02 shooting attack in Neve Yacov neighborhood of Jerusalem. I received a message there is no change. He still has not had an operation and sounds very discouraged.

BOAZ BEN YEFET (20-5-03), from Ateret, was shot near the entrance to his village on December 17th, '01is still not working. He had surgery on his hand two weeks ago and still is in a lot of pain. He is scheduled to have surgery soon on one finger of the other hand because of infection. The situation stays status quo.

Some of the names from the Dec. 1 st '01Ben Yehuda bombing:

*SHARON CHAIM BEN GILA, (22-7-03) 23 years old is still completely paralyzed except for his right hand and doing rehab. I received the following message: I visited him in their new apartment. What a wonderful difference! He has round-the-clock male nurse and the lovingcare of Gila. He does go for physiotherapy and his overall condition, while almost the same, is far better emotionally, away from the hospital. (It is almost 20 months since the massacre on Ben Yehuda).

CHANA TOVA CHAYA BAT PESCHA (17-6-03), the 32 year old mother of a young girl, who was seriously injured in the Sbarro bomb blast the summer of '01 is off the respirator and out of the respiratory unit. She is still unconscious and the situation stays more or less status quo.

TZIPPORAH BAT TECHIYA, (6-5-03) age 14 (now15) and her father, SHIMON DAVID BEN CHANA GITTEL, were seriously injured in a driveby shooting on August 5 th, '01. I received the following message:

Tzippy and Shimon are both B"H status quo. Shimon is at work and Tzippy is at school, she has actually made some good progress in therapy and is able to walk for a bit longer distances with a walker . Her main mode of transportation is still the wheelchair, yet B"H there is some progress. We continue to pray for continued progress, and for Shimon as well.....

NOA BAT ILANA, (10-12) the third of three women soldiers who were seriously injured when the Arab bus driver rammed into them at the bus stop, still suffers from her memory loss. Her father says that she is doing OK but not much improvement. I am no longer able to get a hold of the father, but I think she should stay on the list indefinitely since she suffered brain damage in the attack.

ARIEL BEN LIA RIVKA, (17-6-03) the baby from Atzmona who was attacked with mortar shells before PESACH '01, is now home and going to nursery school with an aide. He is no longer doing therapy in Jerusalem, rather in Sdederot and Beersheva, which is much closer and easier on him and the family. There is always little progress, but the situation stays status quo more or less.

YOSEF BEN ESTHER, (25-3-03) of Nerya (Tel Mon Bet), who was shot over two years ago, is paralyzed. He is married and now living in Kfar Saba and going to Beit Levinstein for outpatient treatment. The situation stays status quo.

DOVID HOVAV BEN DAGANIT (24-12), the soldier who was seriously injured in Alei Sinia in Oct. '01still has not had his intestine taken care of. According to a neighbor, he is not working, goes to physical therapy, and is gaining strength for the surgery. I received this message from someone at the hospital: Dovid told me he is at home and well and going to college. He will have surgery some time in the future but I think he can be taken off the list until then.
