March 19 2016: Avraham Goldman, 69, of Herzliya, was one of three Israelis murdered in today’s terror attack in Istanbul, Turkey.
The suicide bomber identified the group of Israelis as they were entering a restaurant, followed them in and detonated his suicide vest. An additional eleven Israelis were injured in the blast. An Iranian citizen was also killed, and dozens more were injured.
The Ministry of Defense has recognized the 14 Israeli victims the terror attack in Istanbul as official victims of hostilities, after determining there is a reasonable basis for the belief that the attack was directed at Israelis.
Avraham (Avi), and his wife Nitza, who was also wounded in the attack, were members of an organized tour to Istanbul, which was targeted by the terrorist.
Goldman, who also held American citizenship, worked as a tour guide in Jerusalem where he led groups of VIPs and many foreign businessmen. He was laid to rest today in the Holon cemetery, and is survived by his wife Nitza, three children and eight grandchildren.
