Lieutenant (res.) Boris Yarmulnik, 28

Nov 22, 2012 - IDF reserve officer Lt. Boris Yarmulnik, 28, of Netanya, mortally wounded by rocket fire from Gaza on Wednesday, Nov 21, died of his wounds the following day.

Boris Yarmulnik, born in Kiev, immigrated to Israel from Ukraine in 1993 with his family at the age of 9. He attended the Tchernikovsky High School in Netanya and then completed his army service.

For the past few years he had been a physics student at Tel Aviv University. A munitions officer in his reserves unit, he received an emergency call-up order. During one of the rocket attacks he took cover inside or near an armored vehicle and was hit by shrapnel in the head. He died the following day.

Neighbors described Boris as a good, quiet guy. He was tghe pride of his parents, and of the neighborhood.

Lt. Boris Yarmulnik was buried in the Netanya military cemetery. He is survived by his parents, Gennady and Asfur, and younger brother Yevgeny.
