Yonatan Suher, 40, of Tel Aviv

March 19 2016 -  Yonatan Suher, 40, of Tel Aviv, was one of three Israelis murdered in today’s ISIS terror attack in Istanbul, Turkey.

The suicide bomber identified the group of Israelis as they were entering a restaurant, followed them in and detonated his suicide vest. An additional eleven Israelis were injured in the blast. An Iranian citizen was also killed, and dozens more were injured.

The Ministry of Defense has recognized the 14 Israeli victims the terror attack in Istanbul as official victims of hostilities, after determining there is a reasonable basis for the belief that the attack was directed at Israelis.

Yonatan had travelled with his wife Inbal to Istanbul to celebrate his 40th birthday. Inbal was also injured in the attack.

Yonatan was born on Kibbutz Kvutzat Shiller, the first great-grandson of the founders. He served in the military police, graduated from law school and worked in the high-tech industry.

Yonatan was laid to rest today in the cemetery at Kibbutz Kvutzat Shiller. He is survived by his wife and their two children.
